World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also increase bonuses like damage from PvE and crit chance.
If the template for upgrading a weapon ends in %, it will be able to gain an additional 3% of the previous damage for each time it is upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the current level of the item. The cost increases as the item's level rises.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into armor, weapons and trinkets to give a stat bonus or extra effect while they're in use. These can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be placed in equipment with a slot for them; the item must have been at the very least upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be used. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and Enrichments are type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade may include a suffix or prefix changing the name of the equipment with which it is applied (for instance "Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of the equipment using the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than are required to reach the same upgrade level through normal methods.
A 'boost upgrade' can alter the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades are available to be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear, or by purchasing them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals.
Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will be available in the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear even when they're not sure what can be improved upon the reset.
The process of upgrading an item could be costly and it's possible that the item will eventually become obsolete, or even break, in the event that the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items to double or even eliminate possibility of failure, and some upgrades that provide the benefit of being reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade components that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, including any existing attaches. Glyphs are upgraded in a variety of ways, and we suggest upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as possible.
You will often find in the final game that placing Glyphs is a great method to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and offer a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes faster.
Glyphs, the sole upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced again, are the most common. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt by using a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
Each Glyph has a certain range of values can enhance a stat by. The value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with another Glyph with the same rank or higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the glyph.
Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the various Glyphs as well as also a few rare glyphs that can be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
Once you have the desired Glyphs, you will need to place them on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. Leveling
The item upgrade system allows players to increase the stats of specific items by adding upgraded components. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level which determines the final stats. Upgraded items may be leveled up to a maximum level of 385. Each level requires a different number of components to reach, and the upgrade costs increase as the item is upgraded.
Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab in the crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns some Technology Points. These points can be used for the upgrading of an item. Once enough points are earned, you will be able to claim your upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.
When an individual player upgrades the equipment they have, the base item is replaced by a new item. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item comes with its own bonus. This can be a disadvantage in that it could cause the item to become more expensive, even if you don't require it.
Upgrades to items can be rerolled, if the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do this. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, with a level 1 base and a totally different set of bonuses. This is useful for certain items, but it shouldn't be repeated often, as it can use up lots of resources.
Some upgrades can be rerolled many times which increases their value and allowing the player to customize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants an increase in power if the player is repeatedly in or exits the water. It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time raising the maximum roll by 10 points. This item can be extremely valuable in PvP, as a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its non-upp'd value.
Requirements
The ability to upgrade items allows players to increase the quality of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate items and currency to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of the item, and upgrading weapon equipment will increase the base damage and required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear that can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Every each time you upgrade an item it is given the chance to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you go over the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures will cause the item to revert to its initial condition, which requires the user to pay more for materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.
If an item does not upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it has gained, such as the chance to crit attack damage, other effects (such as increased heal over time or reloading speed). However, the player may continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.
Whenever an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. item upgrades means that if a weapon receives a crit chance boost that it will be applied before any attack damage increases. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the definition of the item and the value is computed every time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is dependent on its rarity score and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to the value of the base item. For example an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades for a price of. 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items will have the lowest cost for each additional upgrade.
Premium items may have different upgrade requirements from standard gear. For instance they may require less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. The player will need to carry every piece of equipment they wish to upgrade to NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each equipment upgrade requires an individual amount of ingredients needed to upgrade.
